The Thames class was an unusual lifeboat design developed by the Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI) in the early 1970s at a time when the charity was looking to build lifeboats which were both faster than existing designs and had a self-righting capability.
This 92-page volume records the history of the two Thames class boats that were built, with technical information, descriptions of medal-winning services, and numerous photographs of both.
